SITGES
 

Sitges is a town about 35 kilometres southwest of Barcelona, renowned worldwide for its Film Festival and Carnival.  Located between the Garraf National Park and the Mediterranean Sea, it is known for its beaches, restaurants, nightspots, and historical sites.

The roots of Sitges 'Artsy' reputation dates back to the late 19th century, when Catalan painter Santiago Rusiñol took up residence there during the summer.   Sitges has always been a place that has enchanted artists, tourists and visitors alike, and has been referred to as the Saint-Tropez of Spain.  Its charm lies in its location – nestled between the sea and the surrounding Parc Natural del Garraf.  The shelter of the mountains creating a micro climate and almost 300 sunny days a year.  Sitges Old Town has preserved important medieval sites and the quaintness of the old working village of farmers and fishermen.

it is linked with Barcelona by road - 15km (just 30 minutes), and frequent trains - just 25 minutes.

 

As well as the Golden Beaches and the pretty Old Town with its shops, bars and restaurants.  There is ample opportunity for Sailing, Kayaking, and other Watersports, as well as Horse riding and Golf.
